Police tortures tribes for Onions

Kurnool: Chenchu tribes from the Nallamalla area have complained to the District Judge about being tortured by the local police.

The local police allegedly tortured the tribal people while interrogating them about the 15 tons of onions that went missing after a truck carrying them overturned in the forest area. The police took 15 people from the Chenchu tribe into their custody alleging that they have stolen the onions.
The 15 people were released, as a large number of people from the community turned out at the police station staging protests against the brutality of the police.
