Police to grill Shankar Rao in defamation case

The Saifabad police on Tuesday served notices to former minister and cantonment MLA P Shankar Rao directing him to appear for investigation in connection with the defamation case filed against him for abusing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP Dinesh Reddy.

They asked Shankar Rao to appear before the investigation officer on Wednesday. The Saifabad police recently registered defamation and criminal intimidation cases against Shankar Rao. As the court directed the police to submit a comprehensive report on the issue, they asked Shanka Rao to appear tomorrow for probing in the case. Shankar Rao in his press conference accused the CM and DGP of misusing their power.
