Police Suspect Shamshabad Murder Case To Be Honor Killing

Hyderabad: The Shamshabad police cracked the mystery of a murder case on Tuesday after being tipped off by a car servicing owner.

According to the police, a 23-year-old Mahesh Goud, a native of Jumerat Bazar in the city, had been working in a grocery store in Shamshabad town. Mahesh had fallen for a girl who resides in the nearby locality. Knowing about this, girl's elder brother Ramesh had warned Mahesh not to stalk her.

On Monday, Ramesh along with four of his friends called up Mahesh and in the guise of having a drink, they took Mahesh in a car to an isolated place near Shamshabad. After consuming some liquor, Ramesh picked up an argument with Mahesh asking him to leave his sister alone.

In a fit of rage, Ramesh stabbed the victim with a knife in the car leaving Mahesh seriously injured. Mahesh died in the car a short while later. Ramesh with the help of his friends took the body to a place near Madanapally village on the outskirts of Shamshabad, and set the body afire . On Tuesday, Ramesh gave his car for water servicing. Noticing blood stains in the rear seat of the car, the owner alerted the police
and this tip-off helped the cops in nabbing Ramesh. The police are treating it as an honour killing. A case has been registered and the accused was sent in remand.
