Police Finds Large Stashes of Money in Nayeem’s Residence

Nalgonda: Close on the heels of an encounter with Nayeem, the dreaded gangster from Bhuvanagiri, that led to his death, the police have begun conducting searches in places where he is known to have conducted his business by rounding up known accomplices.

Two DCP rank officials accompanied by four ACPs are leading search operations in Nayeem’s residence. The search so far is said to have yielded cash amounting to crores of rupees.

Nayeem was killed in a shootout by Greyhounds police in a gated community township at Shad Nagar in Mahbub Nagar district, about 70km from city, in the wee hours of Monday.

The gangster with his ‘naxalite training’ and organizational tactics was engaged in illegal underworld activities and had amassed a lot of wealth through his involvement in several land dispute settlements.

Police on Monday rounded up two of his associates from Rangareddy district. They have reportedly discovered huge stashes of cash from their residence so far. Two currency counting machines were deployed to estimate the value of the cash. Two vehicles have also been confiscated by the police.

After the shoot out on Monday morning, the district SP Rama Rajeshwari had visited the spot where Nayeem was killed. Police have also arrested Nayeem’s family members including his wife and daughter.
