Police counsels criminals to help them lead normal lives

Hyderabad, The Cyberabad police has introduced a programme to counsel criminals along with their family members to enable them to lead normal life.

As part of the programme, station house officers (SHOs) of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate counselled around 900 criminals involved in property offences, after which most of them expressed their wish to lead normal lives, Additional DCP (Crimes), Cyberabad, G Janaki Sharmila said. A notorious chain snatcher Marineni Raju, who decided to live a peaceful life with his family sought the help of Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand who helped him set up a tea stall near Kushaiguda police station. Raju's is the first case where the police helped an accused released from jail to start a normal life, she said.
