Sophia Pedraza, 26, becomes Britain’s first full-time Pokemon Go player.

London: PokemonGo frenzie not only causes accidents and traffic offences, but is also pulling people out of the employment. A teacher has quit her job to become Britain’s first full-time Pokemon Go player.

Sophia Pedraza, 26, from High Barnet, North London, was earning up to £2,000 a month from giving private lessons to kids in maths, English and music. Now, Pedraza is planning to cash in on the craze by pounding the streets to collect virtual characters and then sell her accounts on eBay. The auction site has accounts for sale ranging in price from £50 to several thousand for those with rare characters and loads of combat power points. One bidding war recently stopped at £7,300.

Pedraza is also a law graduate. But after downloading the PokemonGo mobile phone app two weeks ago she’s become obsessed and thinks she can make a living out of it.

However, after downloading the Pokemon mobile phone app two weeks ago she’s become obsessed. Pedraza said: “I downloaded it and immediately realized there is money to be made. If you can get to a decent level you can sell it on to people on Ebay. I heard accounts were being sold and I looked on eBay and some accounts at level 20 and above were going for a £1,000 and level 15 bids were about £100-£200. If you put the time in you can get to level 15 after a day or two.”
