Puducherry: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Puducherry on February 24 to participate in the golden jubilee celebration of the Auroville International township near here, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said today.
Talking to reporters here, he said he had written a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to inaugurate the sea port in Puducherry, which is aimed at handling container cargo as per the agreement the Port Department of the Union Territory had inked with the Chennai Port Trust.

He said he had requested the Prime Minister to dedicate the port here during his forthcoming visit to Puducherry on February 24. "I hope the Prime Minister would concede our request as the port project was a long felt requirement of Puducherry," he said. (PTI)
