Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is observing a protest fast today, Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSRCP President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out that 5 MPs from the state had been hospitalized after a 6 day hunger strike demanding Special Category Status to AP. Taking to the popular social media platform Twitter, YS Jagan sent out a tweet urging PM Modi to fulfill the promise made on the floor of the parliament. The tweet reads:

PM @narendramodi ji, as you observe a fast today, 5 AP MPs have been hospitalized after a 6 day hunger strike over denial of SCS. Please hear the voices of 5 cr people of AP & grant the promise of SCS made on the floor of the house.

YS Jagan has been highlighting the issue of SCS to AP right from the time of bifurcation of the state. The YSRCP chief has also been creating awareness on the SCS issue at every public meeting and rally during the course of his mass contact initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra which reached its 135th day today.

The BJP led by Prime Minister Modi has decided to observe a day's fast in protest against the wash-out of the budget session of the parliament, which it attributes to the behaviour of the opposition parties.
