Pious Gang: 10% Of Earnings From Rape, Murder And Robbery Are Given To Deity

Gurgaon: This criminal gang is unique for several of its practices.

The gang in question was arrested by the Gurgaon police and consists of four members - Dharmu (20) and Munna (20) from Delhi, Lambu (31) from Ballabhgarh and Rajbir alias Nahar Singh (20) from Jhajjar district in Haryana. First, the gang members would conduct recce of a particular area, get information and strike at night but here-in lies the uniqueness. Prior to a hit, all the gang members visit a temple and offer sacrifice. After the robbery, they would offer 10% of their earnings at a local temple.

Their modus operandi was to conduct a couple of crimes at a time and they lie low for several days. Their primary targets were vehicles on national highways and lone houses on village outskirts or near highways. But the luck of this "Pious Gang" ran out when Gurgaon police arrested them in a rape case that took place in Mandpura village in Haryana’s Pataudi town. During investigations, the four members of the gang confessed to their involvement in over 150 crimes ranging from rape and murder to robbery.

Interestingly, they admitted to their role in sensational crimes that included the Jewar gang rape case and Bulandshahr gang rape. Besides Haryana, the gang was also involved in similar crimes in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The Gurgaon police have now launched a special investigation to verify their claims in these cases.
