Hyderabad: The power star of Tollywood, Pawan Kalyan, who had earlier adopted a wait and watch view on the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday took to twitter on a more anxious note. He expressed his hope that the BJP would not make the same mistake that the Congress did two years ago.

He also made a requisition on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh that the centre take the help of the opposition and fight for this issue before the people begin to rally out onto the streets for it.

With the Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary stating in the Rajya Sabha on Friday that the special status for Andhra Pradesh was not necessary, there has been a lot of political reaction to the unresolved issue so far.

Pawan Kalyan who had so far adopted a patient approach towards the Centre, joined the host of leaders who expressed their disappointment and anguish about the issue. He tweeted that the Andhra people would not forget the humiliation that had been meted out to them two years ago by the Congress and hoped that the BJP would not repeat that mistake.

He also sounded off a warning that if the Centre did not take the Opposition into confidence and resolve the issue, then the people of Andhra Pradesh would come out into the streets to agitate for it.
