Passenger held, 2 kg gold seized

The customs officials at Shamshabad International Airport arrested a traveler who was trying to smuggle 2 kg of gold. The passenger was coming from Abu Dhabi.

To avoid being detected by the customs officials, the passenger devised an ingenious way. He stored the gold in place of the cellphone batteries and tried to hoodwink the customs people. However, the officials proved too clever for him and detected the gold from inside the cellphones.

The passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, is being questioned.
