MLA's car catches fire outside the Assembly

Hyderabad: A car suddenly burst into flames a few minutes after the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session ended on Friday causing a few anxious moments there. Police were relieved to find out that the reason for the fire was a malfunction in engine.

The car belonged to the Polavaram MLA from East Godavari district, Mudiam Srinivas. The fire started from within the car engine but quickly engulfed a large portion of the car. The MLA was making his way to the vehicle after the AP Assembly proceedings for the day had ended, when the car abruptly broke into flames.

The MLA was able to quickly move away to safety. Heavy deployment of police in the Assembly premises helped in putting out the flames and restoring order.
