The Takeaways

Several insightful and educational workshops have been hosted in educational institutes, rural areas and self-help groups. Some of the key challenges that surfaced/ identified, were lack of confidence in themselves and their capabilities, child marriage, dowry, alcoholism and domestic violence. CrossBow Miles is aiming to address the key problems faced by women and focus on possible solutions, which will eventually be presented as a white paper to authorities at the end of the historic journey.

Speaking on the mission of women safety and empowerment through digital and financial literacy campaign, Srishti Bakshi said, "Through Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, I've noticed the impressive effort of the state governments towards digitization. In the workshops, we focused on women as they can be change-makers for their homes and community by allowing their daughters to finish their education and not allowing child marriage. With small changes in gender stereotyping at the family unit level, reform will spread through society. We have also discussed that women and girls should dare to dream and with this, we hope to awaken more freedom of thought and sow the seeds of lasting change in India."

Through this walk, Srishti and her team will conduct approximately 110 workshops on women empowerment, digital and financial literacy, and leadership, knowing one’s rights, gender sensitization, health and hygiene. The campaign aims to drive awareness in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi as well as J&K, which will be the route for her entire walk.
