Palair bypoll: EC transfers Khammam District Collector, SP

Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Tuesday transfered the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Khammam district in Telangana ahead of the May 16 Palair Assembly bypoll.

The decision to transfer District Collector Lokesh Kumar and SP Shahnawaz Qasim was taken on the basis of a complaint filed by the Telangana unit of Congress levelling allegations of violation of model code of conduct by the ruling TRS, a release from the Chief Electoral Officer said.

The Commission posted M Danakishor as the District Collector, R Rama Rajeshwari as Superintendent of Police and B Shankar as the returning officer for Palair constituency, the release added.
