Bhongir: The proof of this truism lies in the countless movie scripts where the gangster or a villain threatens his political and business associates with the presence of these ‘gangster notes’, which he has put in safe deposit box or in a trusted associate’s safe keeping.

The recently deceased notorious gangster Nayeem’s case seems to follow the same plot; which the news readers and viewers seem to be lapping up and left wanting for more.

In the end, the warring gangster himself has proved that his pen is indeed mightier than his sword ever was!

What do the pages reveal?

This is the question on everyone’s lips. What do the pages from the gangster’s diary reveal? Who do they allegedly incriminate? Officers of the law, politicians, public representatives and even people in the media, it is being alleged, were hand in glove with Nayeem in his lawless acts of omission and commission.

With valuations of his ill-gotten wealth and dealings being cited as upwards of a thousand of crore, the network of his business and political associates would naturally be numerous.

Fingers are being pointed and ‘guestimates’ floated around even as press meets are arranged to dismiss allegations and political posturing getting more defensive.

Will we get back our properties?

Meanwhile Nayeem’s victims, who had to part with their properties, under threat of life, at much lower prices, are beginning to question whether they would now be able to get back what belonged to them. While some of them seem to be weighing out the possibility of approaching the police authorities, other complainants who have already approached the police want their names to be kept secret.

A police officer said that those who come forward and register their complaints will have the opportunity of their cases being investigated and the benefit of the law coming to aid them.

Meanwhile the police continue to round up Nayeem’s known associates and pursue hard on their investigations. They claim to not only know the number and names of his associates who are at large but also where they are hiding.

At the moment they seem to be more focused on the land and cash dealings of the deceased gangster which formed the bulk of activities that Nayeem was involved in.
