Deepika Padukone's much talked about film Padmaavat has taken the box office by storm on its opening day. It is worth mentioning here that Padmaavat has beaten the record of Aamir Khan's two blockbuster hits PK and Dangal with single day collections in North America.

It would have earned much more revenue but its release ban in four states-Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. This has created a dent in the domestic box office collections. Nevertheless, Padmaavat has joined the 100 Cr Club in a span of just three days, which is a rare feat for any film.

Padmaavat has been made with a budget of Rs 180 Cr with an extra 20 Cr for 3D Imax. New Bollywood have been lined up for release on February 9, till then there's no threat to Padmaavat. The film will have a good run at the box office and mint profit at the ticket window. The word of mouth for the film is strong which is also pulling people to theatres. Thanks to the innumerable controversies before its release, the curiosity factor has done wonders to up the revenue of the film.

Padmaavat is a period drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film features Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. All the stars steal the show with their brilliant performances. We bet, it will become the first blockbuster hit of 2018.
