Matrimonial Fraudster Booked Under PD Act

Hyderabad: A fraudster, who duped unwed girls through online matrimonial platforms and had live-in relationship with ten girls simultaneously, finally had his comeupppance. He was booked under the PD Act on Tuesday.

He fleeded girls to a tune of several lakhs posing as the commissioner of Central Board of direct Taxes. As many as eight cases are already filed against the fraudster in three states.

The criminal used to create profiles of himself and claimed to be doing white collar jobs. He began getting pally with unwed girls and began taking money from them.

Tanmay Goswamy alias Hemanth Gupta of Kolkata, who has a wife and a son, hooked gullible unwed girls registering in online matrimonials. He had live-in relation with ten girls simultaneously in metro cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. He was found to dupe using several aliases like Rajesh Gupta and Sanjay Chatterjee. He was arrested 45 days ago and was brought to Hyderabad on Tuesday for further questioning.

Shocking details are tumbling out during the investigation. He used to create profiles of himself and claimed to be doing white collar jobs. He began getting pally with unwed girls and began taking money from them. With this money, he bought two cars and enjoyed a luxurious life. He also hired bouncers for the protection of his wife and his son in Kolkata to keep them from lenders.

CCS police said a case was booked against Tanmay under the PD Act and also warned the girls, who are on matrimonial sites, to be careful.
