Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) of Telangana issued notices to Telugu prime time TV comedy shows 'Jabardast' and 'Pataas' on Thursday.

The SHRC acted upon a complaint filed by censor board member Nandanam Diwakar. The notices were issued to the officials concerned asking them to submit a report over the comedy shows before August 10.

Diwakar alleged that the shows are propagating vulgarity in the name of humour. He said this was done to garner TRPs.

Diwakar stated that although he had filed a complaint against the television programmes earlier in the Bala Nagar police station, the cops did not take the issue seriously.
