New Delhi: Noted Tollywood director, who gave some memorable movies to Telugu audience, K Viswanath on Wednesday received India's prestigious cinema award — Dada Saheb Phalke award from President Pranba Mukherjee at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in national capital New Delhi.
The award was presented to the 87-year-old legendary director for his outstanding contribution towards the Indian cinema. On the occasion of receiving the award, Viswanath thanked his fans and supporters across the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu heaped praises on Viswanath saying that there used to be no obscenity nor violence in the movies directed by him.
Swathi Muthyam, Sankarabharanam, Swayamkrushi, Shrutilayalu, and Swarnakamalam were among several masterpieces directed by Viswanath.
