Evening break darshan (during Nyvedyam) has been cancelled in Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirumala in a bid to provide more time for darshan to ordinary devotees.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju and Executive Officer L V Sbrahmanyam have taken a decision to this effect on Sunday and the new directives would come into effect from tomorrow (Monday). However, evening break darshan would be remained the same on every Thursday and it would be in force up to May 31.
They said the decision was taken to provide more common pilgrims to have darshan during summer holidays. Replying to a question, they said a decision would be taken after discussing with the trust board members on continue the cancellation of break darshan even after May 31. Owing to cancellation of evening break, common pilgrims would have 3 more hours of time additionally for darshan.
