Nine killed in two separate accidents

In a tragic road mishap occurred on Monday near Anandapuram mandal of Vizianagaram, five persons were killed including three women and one other injured when a cement-laden lorry in which they were traveling overturned.

The truck, was on its way to Manapuram from Anakapalli, when the accident occurred. The injured were admitted to the KG hospital.

A case has been registered and the bodies have been sent for postmortem to a government hospital.

In another accident, four persons were killed in YSR district in a truck-car collision. Two others, who were grievously injured have been admitted to a government hospital in Proddutur.

Four persons were killed on the spot after the auto they were traveling in collided head-on with a tanker near Tippanuru of Erraguntla in the district in the early hours of Monday.

The bodies of the victims were extricated from the mangled auto by police and local people.
