We have highly talented actresses and beautiful women gunning for good roles on Telugu Screen from Telugu speaking households. But somehow, luck has been in the side of actresses from other languages.

Twenty years ago Ravali, Rambha, Roja ruled the roost on Telugu screen but Ramyakrishnan, Simran, Soundarya, Nagma tilted the balance towards Mumbai and Chennai ladies with occasional Bangalore flavour and rare Malayali masala adding to the list.

Somehow, Telugu Cinema has become a home for heroines who cannot speak Telugu at all. Recently, things seem to be changing with Swathi Reddy, Anjali, Poojitha Ponnada, Eesha Rebba, Ritu Varma and Chandini Chowdary getting offers more often.

But the luck factor seems to be evading them and we have Chandini Chowdary now, testing her luck with Colour Photo. Eesha Rebba seem to be sticking to photo shoots lately while Ritu Varma has two projects. Poojitha Ponnada might appear in second heroine roles in few latest films. Anjali never had the same luck in Telugu as she did in Tamil Cinema.

Hence, it all depends on Chandini Chowdary's success as an actress for many more Telugu ladies to find opportunities as directors, producers feel confident to try them in their Films, especially, Telugu films. Can she break-a-leg and break the barrier too? Let's hope so.
