Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TSR) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha's husband Devanapalli Anil Kumar tested COVID-19 positive. The TRS MLC revealed this through her social media account on Wednesday.

"My husband Devanapalli Anil Kumar has tested positive for COVID19. He is under home quarantine and is doing well. My family and I have quarantined ourselves and would not be making any public or personal appearances. My office will reschedule all the meetings to avoid inconvenience," she tweeted.

Earlier Telangana Congress Working President A Revanth Reddy announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and had isolated himself over the advice of doctors.
He further appealed to all who have been in close contact with him for the past few days to take necessary precautions.

The number of cases in Telangana has been increasing over the past few days. Due to the surge in cases all educational institutions except medical colleges were closed temporarily and all PG and degree exams postponed, to curb the spread of the virus further.

Fresh COVID-19 infections crossed the 400 mark in Telangana as per the state government bulletin on Wednesday. A total of 431 people tested positive for the deadly virus while two more succumbed to the illness raising the toll to 1,676.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation reported the highest number of cases with 111 followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (37) and Ranga Reddy districts (31).
