HYDERABAD: In a ghastly road accident, three members of a family were killed on the spot while another was seriously injured in Suryapet district of Telangana in the wee hours of Friday. The mishap happened when the car they were travelling in rammed into a cement concrete mixing tanker at Kasimpet road junction in Suryapet district.

According to reports, three members of a family, an old couple and their son, along with their driver, were proceeding in their car to Hyderabad from Vijayawada when they were involved in this fateful incident.

The deceased were identified as Mydabattula Satyanandam (70), his wife Mydabattula Vijaya Kumari (60) and their son Mydabattula John Joseph (35). The car driver was severely injured in the accident. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, the incident happened at a time when the family was travelling to Hyderabad to get Kumari admitted in a city hospital for cancer treatment.

Their car travelling at a certain speed crashed into the concrete mixing tanker when it was taking a U-turn at the Kasimpet junction, the police said. The condition of the driver was said to be critical. Police suspect that overspeeding of the car might be the reason for the fatal accident.
