Telangana: Special Law To Legalise Dalit Bandhu May Be Introduced In Assembly Session

The Telangana Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council is going to meet on September 24. The Business Advisory Committee will discuss the duration of the session. This is the first session after six months and also the first after the exit of former minister Etela Rajender from TRS.

The state government issued two ordinances after the budget meetings that have been ended on March 26. The government also issued an ordinance on August 13 regarding Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji Horticulture University and another ordinance has been issued on June 25 w.r.t amendments to be made to the Housing Board Act.

Now the state government is going to introduce new bills in the Assembly - Bill on the Department of Stamps and Registrations and another bill on actions to be taken in case of attacks on foreign tourists.

A separate law similar to the SC / ST sub-plan law is likely to be introduced in the Assembly to legalize Dalit Bandhu. After the BAC meeting, CM KCR will leave for Delhi. After a three-day visit, he is expected to return to the Assembly on Monday morning.

Dalit Bandhu Scheme:

Dalit Bandhu was introduced by the Telangana government. The main aim of this scheme is to empower Dalit families and enable entrepreneurship among them through a direct benefit transfer of Rs 10 lakh per family. This scheme was introduced on a pilot basis in Huzurabad Assembly Constituency.
