Telangana Sets Record For Planting 3.5 Lakh Saplings In An Hour in Adilabad

Former MLA Jogu Ramanna launched a program on the occasion of his 58th birthday to plant one million saplings in one hour as a part of the Green India challenge in Adilabad. Over 30,000 TRS members participated in the task of one million saplings event that created Guinness world record.

Many TRS members, including founder of Green India Challenge and Rajya Sabha MP Santhosh Kumar and general public participated in this massive event and planted more than 3.5 lakh saplings in just an hour across the state in a step towards saving the environment. MLA Jogu Ramanna provided two ambulances to the RIMS Hospital, which were launched by MP Santosh Kumar.

Over five lakh saplings were planted through the Miyawaki model in the degenerated forest area of 200 acres in Durganagar of Adilabad rural region. Two lakh plants in Adilabad Rural Bela Mandal, 1.8 lakh saplings in 45 houses were planted in one hour. Volunteers ensured planting of 1,20,000 saplings on either side of R&B road.

Earlier, 3,03,000 saplings were planted in Turkey in 2019 in an hour. Now the Green India Challengein Adilabad has broken the Guinness World record.  The organizers said that all the program has been video recorded as per the norms and will be sent to Guinness Book World Records, for making it to the top.  

MP Santosh Kumar congratulated Jogu Ramanna for conducting this noble event on his birthday and urged everyone in the district to take care of the saplings. Jogu Ramanna thanked everyone for taking part in the Green India Challenge and expressed his gratitude for making the event a grand success.
