Telangana Congress working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy was stopped by the police from doing his covid relief works at Gandhi Hospital. He said that he was going to Cantonment Army hospital, and other hospitals to distribute food packets to the neddy.
As part of the COVID relief work started by Revanth Reddy - free meal service at the Gandhi Hospital- where 1,000 people would be served free meal daily including doctors, nurses, patients and their dependents.
Revanth Reddy said that he left his home for Covid relief work but police were saying that they have got instructions from top to not to allow the Covid relief work being undertaken by him.
Revanth Reddy lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao and said that, "The state government failed to control the spread of coronavirus and is hiding the actual number of cases. There is an acute scarcity of vaccine. The Centre and state government have abdicated its responsibility of containing the spread of the virus and of better management."
Begumpet ACP Naresh Reddy and Inspector Srinivas Rao stopped Revanth Reddy's car while he was on his way to Gandhi Hospital on Sunday afternoon. He lashed out at the police and questioned, why did they stop his vehicle. He told the police that he was going to give oxygen cylinders at Tirumalagiri hospital. Revanth Reddy took the matter to the notice of Commissioner Anjani Kumar. The commissioner also said that he can't go to Gandhi hospital according to the rules. Later, Revanth Reddy was given permission to go to Tirumalagiri hospital.
