Top leaders and activists belonging to the Congress, CPI, TJS, CPM, TDP, CPI-ML (New Democracy) and Inti Party staged a maha dharna at the Dharna Chowk near Indira Park on Wednesday against the anti-people policies adopted by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti governments at the centre and state respectively.

The day-long agitation programme was organized by the main opposition party, Congress. Speaking on the occasion, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy gave a call for 'Aakhri Poratam' to achieve a Telangana where there will be transparency, social justice, and self-rule. He further stated that Telangana has been achieved but still the people of the state are facing a lot of problems and are not able to get social justice and self-rule. He criticized the ruling of TRS government and said that Tribals have been deprived of exercising their right to cultivation on podu lands.

He claimed that the TRS government was cancelling the pattas of podu lands and acquiring them unlawfully in the name of Haritha Haram or projects like Mallanna Sagar or Pharma City. "Telangana was formed to serve a population of four million people. But only four members of KCR family have enslaved 'Telangana Talli', and it must be freed with the 'Aakhri Poratam.' Under the brutal regime, many people are imprisoned," he stated.

Revanth Reddy criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for not reacting to the KCR government's irregularities, corruption, frauds, and misrule. According to Revanth Reddy, demonetization shattered the entire economy and did not bring back any hidden black money, as Modi claimed. He said that after destabilizing the country's economy with demonetization, the Modi government had introduced 'monetization' to sell off the country's assets.

Revanth Reddy further stated that "The Modi government is selling off public assets like roads, railway lines, railway stations, airports, ports and institutions like BDL, IDPL, LIC, etc., to private companies to raise Rs 6 lakh crore, whereas the previous Congress government created huge public assets and dedicated them to the nation.”

He said that the Saffron Party is following the policy of "Hum do, hamare do". Revanth said that while 'Hum do' means Modi and Amit Shah whereas 'hamare do' are Ambani and Adani.

Revanth appealed to the people of the state to support the Bharat Bandh on September 27th. He directed all 33 DCC presidents in Telangana to convene meeting with leaders of the other opposition parties in their respective districts. He said that agitation programmes would be conducted on October 5 with respect to podu lands in the 400-km connecting corridor.

He said that agitation programmes would be conducted on October 5 with respect to podu lands in the 400-km connecting corridor. Revanth Reddy said that Podu Rasta Roko from Adilabad to Aswararopet will be organised and he would participate in the protest in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Sitaram Yechury, the national secretary of the CPM, claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a hidden goal for visiting foreign countries. He said that “We are concerned about what sale deed Modi would finalise on his foreign trip.” he remarked. According to him, the Modi government has damaged four pillars of the Indian Constitution. “Democracy in the country is under jeopardy, and Modi should be removed from his position as Prime Minister,” he stated.
