Telangana Congress Finalizes Two Candidates for MLCs under MLA Quota

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress party has finalised the names of two candidates for the Telangana state legislative council under Governor’s quota on Tuesday. The ruling party has nominated Addanki Dayakar and Balmoor Venkat as MLCs under the MLA quota.

The names of former Osmania University professor M Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan are also doing rounds who could be nominated under Governor’s quota. The party may announce their nominations in a day or two. 

Earlier this month, the Election Commission of India had released the election schedule for two MLC seats in Telangana. These two seats under the MLA quota had fallen vacant after the resignations of P Kaushik Reddy and Kadiam Srihari. Both leaders resigned as MLCs after they got elected to the State Assembly in the recent elections. The last date for filing of nominations is January 18.
