Telangana Budget 2022-23: BJP MLAs Protest On No Governor Session

The 2022-23 budget session of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly and the Council is going to start at 11.30 AM on Monday without customary address by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Ahead of the budget session, Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs staged a protest at Gunpark.

Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao will present the State Budget for 2022-23 in the Assembly on the first day of the session. Legislative Affairs Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy introduced the budget in the Legislative Council. 

According to the sources, the State Budget for 2022-23 is going to be at least a 10-15 percent increase over the Budget of Rs. 2.31 lakh crore presented for the financial year 2021-22. Telangana government is expected to shower gifts for the citizens of the state.

It is said that all the ministers are well prepared so as to answer all the questions raised by the opposition parties in the Assembly. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted the ministers to utilize the platform and explain to the people about the welfare programs that are being implemented in the state. KCR also told the ministers to expose the centre's discrimination towards the state.

According to the sources, the opposition parties, BJP, and Congress are going to raise questions on the no governor speech in the budget speech, unemployment in Telangana, and also on the rice procurement in the Telangana.
