Supreme Court appointed Justice Sirpurkar Commission on Friday said that police encounter of the accused in the Disha Case was intentionally shot with an aim to kill them during a police encounter in Hyderabad. The commission said in its findings, "In our considered view, the accused were deliberately fired upon with the intent to cause their death and with the knowledge that the firing would invariably result in the death of the dead suspect."
Sirpukar Commission report says the accused in the gang rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad in 2019, were not trying to escape the police as claimed by the officials. The Commission also said that three of the four accused who were killed by the police were minors and the police know this at the time of the killing. The encounter was led by Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on December 6.

In 2019, I had strongly spoken against the Hyderabad police encounter of the 4 rape accused.

Today, the Supreme Court-led panel calls it a fake encounter, says the cop's version is unbelievable and recommends 10 police officers be booked for murder.#HyderabadEncounter
#SupremeCourt's logic is, if it takes 10 mins to rape, it should take 10yrs to bring culprit to justice.

Legal path to justice is tedious and full of failures. But that is the only path cops ought to take.
