NITI Aayog has placed Telangana as the front-runner in terms of overall performance in the healthcare sector, in the last one-year.

According to the NITI Aayog Health Index report for 2019-20 released on Monday, Telangana was among the top five larger States in the country, to have demonstrated strong overall performance as well as incremental performance.

Telangana was the only Indian state that has consistently performed better in overall performance and incremental performance between 2018-19 and 2020.

NITI Aayog today released the fourth edition of the State Health Index for 2019–20. The report, titled “Healthy States, Progressive India”, ranks states and Union Territories on their year-on-year incremental performance in health outcomes as well as their overall status.

Round IV of the report focuses on measuring and highlighting the overall performance and incremental improvement of states and UTs over the period 2018–19 to 2019–20.
