HYDERABAD: Municipal and IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Monday appreciated city traffic police cops, SI Ilaiah and constable Venkateshwarlu who had issued a traffic challan on his vehicle, for plying in the wrong direction.

Traffic SI Ilaiah who was on the duty on Gandhi Jayanti day, stopped KTR’s car and told the driver to go in the right direction, and also levied a challan. KTR paid the challan and appreciated them for their honesty and for acting as per the rules. The Minister said that the rules are the same for the people or the representatives of the people.

In less than two days after the incident, a traffic challan was issued to his vehicle by traffic SI Ilaiah. Minister KTR paid the challan levied on his vehicle. KTR said that the rules are the same for the citizens and for the representatives of the people. The rules are the same for everyone, he said while speaking on this occasion. He also clarified that he was not in the vehicle on that day the challan was imposed. The incident took plat during the Gandhi Jayanti function held at Bapu Ghat in the city. KTR said that he had paid the fine to convey the right message to his party workers in this regard and felicitated the traffic cops.
