KCR Extends Greetings On 8th Telangana Formation Day 2021, Celebrations A Quiet Affair
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao extended greetings to the people of Telangana on the eve of its eighth formation day which is being celebrated on Wednesday. Governor Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have greeted people of the state on the occasion.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said after numerous agitations and sacrifices, the State was achieved in a democratic manner and is now making the entire country proud with its achievements. He expressed happiness that strong foundations were laid for sustainable development of the State within seven years of its existence.
Infrastructure is being developed to address issues pertaining to irrigation, drinking water, electricity, education, medicine, and roads among others with both short-term and long-term goals in a planned manner.
He said Telangana, which was created as the 29th State in India, is proud to have become a model State for the rest of the country in terms of development and welfare.
“We are determined and committed to putting the aspirations of people of the State into action and paying real tributes to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifices by developing the State on all fronts,” he added.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the State government is supporting the needy, including the elderly, the disabled, women, artisans, caste-based and other professionals through various schemes. “There is a strong commitment of the government in developing the State into the Rice Bowl of India by supporting farmers and reviving the agriculture sector,” he said.
He made it clear that he would not rest until Telangana transforms into a Bangaru Telangana with the faith extended by the people in the State government.
The Telangana State Formation Day celebrations across the State will be a quiet affair on account of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. As per the decision taken by the State Cabinet, the government has nominated dignitaries to unfurl the national flag in all the districts and issued guidelines for organising the celebrations in strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol.
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Telangana Martyrs at Gun Park and later hoisted the National Flag at the Pragathi Bhawan premises.
Governor Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan in a message, said, "I extend my heartiest wishes to all on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day on Wednesday". The Governor stated that after a six-decade-long historic struggle by all sections of people, the State of Telangana was formed on June 2 in 2014 as the 29th State. "The formation of the State has fulfilled the aspirations of people, who waged relentless agitations and made umpteen sacrifices, to realise the long-cherished goal of having their own State to prosper and to protect and promote their own unique identity.
