The coronavirus vaccination drive is going on in Telangana. Most of the people are getting vaccinated. According to the latest reports, the vaccination drive would stop by June 17th. The current vaccine stock data shows that the state has only 7.5 lakh vaccines.
Currently, in Telangana, the vaccine is being given to self help women's groups and a few high risk professionals and it will continue till 17th of this month. Till June 17th, new registrations will take place and vaccination drive will be continued.
If these doses are over, the state government should rely on the vaccines coming from centre. However, there is no clarity on the new doses coming from centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced that the centre will give free vaccines to states for all above 18 years from June 21st. If centre releases more doses of vaccines, then only it is possible to conduct this vaccination drive. Most of the officials are in dilemma on how to conduct the vaccination drive as there is a shortage of vaccines.
The vaccine will be administered to those who have registered on the site and new registrations will continue till 17th of this month. The vaccine supply will be available till 20th, June. It is said that preference will be given to those who have to take second dose of vaccine. In Telangana, a total of 81.66 lakh people have been vaccinated.
