GHMC Identifies Nearly 1,500 Residents With Covid Symptoms

As per the orders of Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, a door-to-door survey has been taken up in the GHMC limits. A total of 641 teams, comprising field-level workers from the GHMC and the Health Department, covered 40,000 households in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.

A total of 1,487 individuals were found to have fever and other Covid-19 symptoms. The individuals were given Covid kits and have been advised to stay in home isolation.

The teams of field level workers comprise an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and an official from the Entomology wing of the GHMC.

The teams said that they also collected the contact details of the individuals with symptoms and mentioned that their health status will be followed up.

The teams referred about 18,600 persons with typical symptoms to Basthi Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) for undergoing Covid tests. Of these, about 3,600 persons had moderate temperatures, GHMC authorities said.

The GHMC authorities launched a special sanitation drive in the areas where a large number of fever cases were reported during the survey.
