HYDERABAD: As three more persons sucummbed to coronavirus on Friday, the death toll in Telangana state mounted to 48.
With this, the state has reported 14 COVID-19 deaths in four days. Five deaths were reported on Thursday, two deaths on Wednesday and four on Tuesday.
According to state health officials, Telangana recorded one of the highest single-day spike with 62 fresh cases, taking the state's tally to 1,761.
The Greater Hyderabad region continued to be a coronavirus hotspot, accounting for 42 of the fresh cases reported on Friday. One case was reported from neighboring Ranga Reddy district.
So far, 1,043 patients were cured and have been discharged from various hospitals across the state. The number of active cases now stands at 670.
Reportedly, 19 migrants tested positive on Friday taking the total number of cases among migrants to 118.
