Telangana COVID-19 Tally Crosses 75,000 Mark

HYDERABAD: Telangana's COVID-19 tally crossed 75,000-mark on Friday, with the highest single-day spike of 2,207 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 75,257.

The death toll due to the virus went up to 601, with 12 new fatalities reported today.

According to a bulletin released by the state medical department on Friday, a total of 1,136 people were discharged in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the state to 53,239. The state's recovery rate stands at 70.7 per cent, while India's recovery rate is 67 per cent.

The state government has conducted testing on 23,495  tests in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 5,66,984 samples have been tested in the state till date. The test reports of 1,539 people are awaited.

Currently, there are 21,417 active cases of coronavirus in the state and 14,837 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine while the rest 6,580 are in institutional care.

Out of the 2,207 cases reported on Friday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, which is witnessing a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, reported the highest with 532 cases, followed by Ranga Reddy with 196 cases, 142 from Warangal Urban, 136 from Medchal Malkajgiri and Khammam registered 85 cases.
