HYDERABAD:  Putting an end to speculations about whether Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister would visit the Bhagyalakshmi temple adjoining the Charminar, Yogi Aditynath on Sunday visited the Shri Bhagyalakshmi Temple on Sunday and offered prayers.

Chief Minister Yogi spent about 20 minutes at the temple and offered special prayers. He was accompanied by BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Rajya Sabha member K Laxman, and Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh.

The UP CM is in the city to participate in the ongoing BJP's National Executive Committee  headed  by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  along with the party's senior leaders, Chief Ministers, union Ministers, and other senior BJP leaders from across the country .

It may be recollected that the Bhagyalakshmi temple was in the eye of a storm after the UP CM had campaigned for BJP candidates during Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections and urged voters to vote for the party and transform Hyderabad into Bhagyanagar which was the name of the city before it was renamed to its present name.

Union Minister Amit Shah had also offered prayers here before undertaking GHMC election campaign in November 2020.
