HYDERABAD: A six-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries after being attacked by street dogs in Chengicherla here. In a tragic unfolding of events, she was shunted from hospital to hospital for treatment. She was finally admitted to Niloufer Hospital where she breathed her last.

According to reports, the child was attacked by stray dogs at around 11 am on Saturday, which left her severely injured.

Her parents took her to a private hospital named Aditya hospital where her wounds were cleaned. However, after seeing severity of the injuries, the girl was sent to another private hospital Ankura in an ambulance, where the girl was treated for a couple of hours. As the health condition of the girl was deteriorating, she was sent to Yashoda Hospital, which allegedly refused to treat her after seeing her injuries.

Later she was shifted to Fever Hospital where doctors told her parents to shift to Niloufer Hospital, a children speciality hospital in Hyderabad.

However, the girl succumbed to her injuries at 6 pm while undergoing treatment, said a representative from an NGO Balala Hakkula Sangham (child rights organisation).

A petition has been filed with the State Human Rights Commission against the negligence of the municipal corporation in the death of the girl by Balala Hakkula Sangham.

The family of the girl depends on daily wage and the parents of the girl demanded justice for their daughter and a solution to the street dog problem.
