In five points, a review of the Redmi Watch: Is it worth Rs 3,999?

The Redmi Watch has a 230mAh battery and features such as 24/7 heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and in-built GPS.

In India, the Xiaomi Redmi Watch costs Rs 3,999.

Xiaomi smartwatch offers a lot of features at a low price.

SpO2 monitoring is not available on the Redmi Watch.

India, like the rest of the world, is becoming more health-conscious. There's a growing need for low-cost fitness trackers, and Xiaomi is often at the top of the list when it comes to low-cost options. Last month, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer released its first-ever budget smartwatch in India under the Redmi sub-brand. The Redmi Watch costs Rs 3,999 and is a competitor to the Amazfit Bip U and Realme Watch.

Surprisingly, Xiaomi took so long to release the first Redmi watch in India, but we think it was worth the wait now that it's here. Xiaomi's smartwatch includes a 230mAh battery and features such as heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and GPS.

Similar to Budget Smartwatches in the market:

The Redmi Watch has the appearance and feel of any other low-cost smartwatch. It has the same rectangular display that Apple pioneered and that has since been adopted by a slew of other companies. As a result, don't anticipate any surprises or for the watch to stand out. However, you will be pleased to know that both the watch and the straps are of high quality. The Redmi Watch is available in three case colors: ivory, black, and blue, as well as four strap colors: ivory, black, blue, and olive. It has a toy-like appearance, yet it's also rather pleasant.

Value for money:

For the price, the Redmi Watch is a feature-packed option. Xiaomi has endeavored to include most of the features that would normally be included in this category. A PPG Heart Rate Sensor, three-axis Acceleration Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Barometer, Gyroscope, and an Ambient Light Sensor are all included in the watch. Other basic functions on the watch include a step counter and sleep tracking. Trail running, walking, indoor and outdoor cycling, pool swimming, open water swimming, treadmill, hiking, and running are among the watch's 11 sports modes. It also has a built-in GPS, which is a feature that you won't find on other budget smartwatches. It allows you to record your path while walking, jogging, or cycling outside without having to carry your phone.

Missing SpO2 Monitoring:

There is one significant omission from Xiaomi's feature list. SpO2 monitoring is not included with the Redmi Watch. Many individuals are purchasing smartwatches to track their oxygen levels these days. Xiaomi, on the other hand, claims that SpO2 monitoring on fitness trackers might be incorrect and that skipping it is preferable to providing misleading data.

User Friendly:

The Redmi Watch has a lot of advantages, one of which is its ease of use. The watch's user interface is quite basic. It uses Xiaomi's proprietary operating system, which is simple to understand. Swiping down brings up the notifications panel, while swiping up brings up quick functions like a flashlight, raising to wake, lock, DND, and the Settings menu. You can modify the brightness levels, vibration strength, DND schedule, and other settings from the menu. You can choose between the face watches by holding the button down. Other functions can be performed using the same button.

Large Battery:

The Redmi Watch's battery is another good attribute. It has a 230mAh battery that should last for around 10 days, according to the manufacturer. The Redmi Watch comfortably lasts for a week on a single charge. This is with moderate usage, which includes getting WhatsApp and Outlook alerts, measuring heart rate, and recording a few workout sessions.
