IPL 2023: With months to go before the start of the Cash Rich league, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly gave a major update on the IPL 2023 format. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played in the traditional home-and-away format. Furthermore, the inaugural Women's IPL is expected to begin in early 2023.

The last two seasons were staged in limited locations to minimise the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, but with the outbreak now under control, the cash-rich league will revert to its original structure in which each side plays one home and one away match.

The lucrative league took place behind closed doors at three sites in the UAE in 2020: Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. The 14th season of the IPL began in India, but due to a COVID outbreak in the bio-bubble, the remaining tournament was moved to the UAE.IPL 2022 was held at three sites in Mumbai and one in Pune.

"The next season of the men's IPL will also return to a home and away structure, with all ten teams playing their home matches at their allotted sites," Ganguly said in a message to state units," said Ganguly to Times of India.
