Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Monday.
Shubman Gill (48) and debutant Venkatesh Iyer (41 not out) scored 82 runs for the opening wicket. KKR reached 94 for 1 in just 10 overs, chasing an easy 93 score for a win.
Earlier, RCB were bowled out for 92 after electing to bat. Varun Chakravarthy (3/13) took three wickets in an excellent four-over spell to open the bowling. Andre Russell (3/9 in three overs) also took three wickets, including AB de Villiers' golden duck, while Lockie Ferguson had two.
Devdutt Padikkal was the highest scorer with 22 runs in yesterday's game.
With 10 points in eight games, RCB is at the third place points table. Virat Kohli, who will step down as RCB captain at the end of the season, played his 200th match for the club, and he is the only player in IPL history to have represented RCB in all 14 seasons.
