Australian Cricketer Shares Breaking News: MS Dhoni Retiring Post IPL in UAE and Indians Didn't Know?

28 Sep, 2021 12:57 IST|Sakshi Post

MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings have been connected since the Indian Premier League (IPL) began 14 seasons ago. For the first time in IPL 2020, CSK did not qualify for the play-offs. However, the team is managing well in the second phase of IPL 2021 and stands at the top of the points table.

As a captain, he is supporting his players and the team is doing well, but as a batter, MS Dhoni is disappointing his fans. A few people are wondering if Dhoni will be eligible to manage the franchise again in 2022.

Dhoni is already 40 years old, and there is much conjecture about how long he will remain in the yellow jersey. Former Australian bowler Brad Hogg believes Dhoni will retire after the current IPL in the UAE. Hogg believes Dhoni's reflexes have decreased and he is not as quick as he once was.

"I believe he will retire from IPL cricket at the end of the year. The way he got out of Chakravarthy's bowling was incorrect, and there was a large space between bat and pad. I believe the 40-year-old reflexes are just beginning to weaken. Hogg said, "His keeping has been outstanding."

Furthermore, Hogg believes Dhoni may go into a managerial job with CSK, possibly as a coach. "At the age of 40, and with the position he has with the Indian Cricket Team heading into the T20 World Cup, I think he'll go into a managerial job, or perhaps the head coach of CSK," he concluded.

Dhoni resigned from international cricket in 2020 and was just named Team India's coach for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2021 next month.
