BENGALURU: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce appealed to  Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to allow the shooting of movies across the State.

D.R Jayaraj, President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce explained in his letter that Sandalwood workers had already been in great financial distress following the pandemic lockdown. He also stated that the movie sets were in a bad condition because of the shooting of movies being stalled.

Have a look at the letter:

The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a devastating impact on the Indian film industry after the year-long pandemic affected the shooting of films, serials, and other forms of entertainment including the latest OTT shows across different States, Sandalwood being no exception.

With the lockdown imposed many films and their releases were pushed back indefinitely leading to huge losses for the producers. The stalling of the film production has had a heavy impact on the workers associated with the film industry and many have been pushed to the brink of poverty despite the aid being given by the film associations.

With the lockdown gradually being lifted across the country, there is a glimmer of hope for the film industries to resume shooting and set the cash registers ringing.

In the latest news from the neighbouring Telugu state, Tollywood various films which are in a state of half completion are slowly resuming shooting after the lockdown in Telangana was completely lifted allowing things to get back to normalcy. As per reports Baahubali director, SS Rajamouli has resumed shooting of his ongoing and much-awaited film- RRR with Ram Charan and Jr NTR at Hyderabad from Monday.
