KRISHNA DISTRICT: Mylavaram YSRCP MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad alleged that TDP leader Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao had instigated his cadres to attack the YSRCP leaders in the G-Kondur region in Krishna district.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday after Devineni Uma was arrested by the police, the YSRCP MLA stated that a local YSRCP leader Paladugu Durgaprasad's car was attacked and a Dalit leader named Suresh who was sitting in the driving seat of the car was also grievously attacked.
He fired the TDP leader stating that he was indulging in petty politics by portraying that Devineni Uma’s car was falsely shown as his being attacked by the Yellow media, including ABN Andhra Jyoti and their allied channels. Local leaders and activists who went for a visit to the village were provoked and attacked by Devineni and his followers created havoc and protested near the police station
The YSRCP MLA stated that the TDP had made it a habit to post false propaganda on a daily basis. CCTV footage near the G. Kondur police station clearly showed thatDevineni Uma provoked his activists and they attacked YSRCP leader Durga Prasad's car and damaged it.
What more evidence is needed to say how the Yellow Media distorts facts and projects it, he fired. Even as we speak now Devineni Uma continues his dramas in front of the police station till this minute. Legal action should be initiated against Devineni Uma. To cover up for the violent acts of his cadre Devineni Uma is now playing the sympathy card, Vasantha Krishna Prasad alleged.
Meanwhile, the district police have arrested Devineni Uma and shifted him to Nandivada police station on Wednesday morning and heavy police security was deployed at Nandivada village. People, including the media, were prevented from entering the village. COVID Tests will be conducted on Devineni Uma and he is likely to be produced before a magistrate after the examination.
