KOLLAM: In a chilling plot, a man allegedly killed his 25-year old wife (Uthra) by letting a cobra bite her while she was sleeping. A case has been filed as the family members of Uthra raised suspicion. A crime branch probe into the death of the woman revealed that it was a pre-planned murder. The police arrested Uthra's husband Sooraj, a private bank employee from Adoor in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala and his accomplice, Suresh.
Kollam Rural SP Harisankar speaking to a news agency said that " In connection with the death of Uthra, her husband Sooraj and his friend Suresh, a snake catcher who sold the snake have been arrested after a detailed interrogation on Sunday."
According to the police, the incident took place on May 6th night at Uthra's residence when Sooraj brought a snake with him and threw it on his wife who was sleeping. According to the reports, Sooraj waited and watched the snake bite Uthra twice. After this, he tried to put the snake in a container but failed.
The snake escaped and went under a cupboard. He was awake all night and the next day, he went away. The parents of the woman found her dead and later they found a snake in her room. The suspicious parents over the death of Uthra raised a complaint as it was the second time the snake bit their daughter.
