Tejasvi Surya Revisits BBMP War Room And Apologises To Employees

7 May, 2021 13:27 IST|Sakshi Post

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya on Thursday revisited the Bengaluru South COVID War Room at around 7 pm, and apologised to the people who have been working there. He apparently told them that he has nothing personal against anyone and apologised if he had hurt anyone of any community with his visit.

A video of Tejasvi calling out the names of 16 Muslim volunteers of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) who have been responsible for the massive irregularities in the process of bed allotment went viral on social media. According to reports, some of the people who have been working in the war room were harassed after their names and numbers were leaked on social media platforms.

Tejasvi said that he was given a list and he just read out the names. He further added that he didn't see whether it was a Hindu or a Muslim and had no intention of being communal.

On May 4, Tejasvi Surya said that more than 4,060 hospital beds have been booked in the name of COVID-19 patients and they have been diverted in return for bribes in the last week. Tejasvi lashed out at BBMP's COVID-19 management and he alleged that some BBMP officials, hospital staffers and people sitting inside zonal war rooms have been involved.

On Thursday, Tejasvi tweeted that, "In the 2nd meeting with senior officials & tech team to revamp the BBMP bed allocation system, we finalised on the reforms to be made in the software. We have set ourselves a target to implement them in the next 100 hours. Hope to see some changes operational by tomorrow."
