Sansad TV Launched: New Govt Channel, All You Need To Know
In an official statement, the Prime Minister's Office stated that the launch date of Sansad TV coincides with the International Day of Democracy.
Sansad TV Launched: The 'Sansad TV' channel was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday. The two parliamentary channels, Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV will be merged into Sansad TV. Ravi Capoor, a retired IAS officer, will be the new channel's CEO.
The two television channels, Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV have been combined to become Sansad TV.
Broadcasting of Parliamentary Sessions
During the Parliament Session Meetings, Sansad TV will broadcast live coverage of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings. In addition, the newly combined station will broadcast educational programming.
Sansad TV programming will primarily focus on four topics: the operation of Parliament and democratic institutions, governance and policy execution, Indian history and culture, and contemporary issues/interests/concerns.
