India Need Not Panic Over Covid Third Wave: Experts

After the centre informed about the distribution of the vaccine as per the wastage concept, the states are under stress. Most importantly, the Jharkhand authorities are under stress as it has wasted most vaccines in the country. It is learned that over 37 per cent of the vaccine got wasted in the state.

How does vaccine get wasted?

Once the vaccine bottle is opened, it has to be emptied and to be inoculated to the individual quickly. For instance, if one bottle can administer vaccine to 10 people, only four are available at the time. The dosage for the remaining 6 people will not be used for later application.

Besides this, everyone is frightened imagining the effect of the corona third wave in India. But after observing the rate of vaccinations and the second wave, experts say that the third wave in India may not be terrible. They suggest people to eat good food and maintain that boosting immunity is the only way to face the pandemic.

The National Institute of Virology in Pune has identified a new corona variant B 1.1.28.2. It is said to be more dangerous than the variants available so far. This new variant was discovered from the samples collected from the international travellers from Brazil and Britain to India.

According to the new vaccination policy, the Central government has decided that the price of Covishield vaccine in all private hospitals will be Rs 780 and the covaxin vaccine will be Rs 1,410 and the cost of Russian Sputnik-V has been capped at Rs 1,145. Private hospitals are not allowed to charge more than this. But the maximum amount of inoculation charges are restricted to Rs 50.

The Telangana government after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, decided to set up free diagnostic facilities at all the major hospitals like Osmania, NIMS and Gandhi in and around Hyderabad. These services will be available from 11 AM. These include tests such as corona tests, blood tests, urine tests, BP, sugar, heart tests, thyroid x-rays and biochemistry pathology. These test centres are available in most medical facilities across Telangana.
